Why We’re Celebrating AI Appreciation Day

Today is AI Appreciation Day. While some may be dubious of a designated day for acknowledging AI’s advancements and contributions, it does create a moment for us to reflect on how AI has impacted nearly every aspect of our lives.

We work with a wide range of AI innovators disrupting nearly every industry. Here’s what one of them – Andy Boyd, Chief Product Officer at Appfire – had to say about AI Appreciation Day.

AI is no longer hype but utility. In communications, it’s a valuable tool for media monitoring, content inspiration and optimization, audience insights, and search intelligence. But at its best, AI doesn’t replace the human touch – it only amplifies it. Effective integrated communications requires strategy and precision, which humans will always power.  AI can just make the process more efficient along the way. 

At Inkhouse, we approach AI by learning constantly and responsibly and ethically incorporating it into our integrated strategies. Here’s how you can too:  

  • Let’s start with training: Over the past few weeks, our AI practice team members completed the PR Council’s formal, multi-course AI training program. The curriculum covered topics such as “AI for Data Analysis” and “Building a Custom GPT,” providing us with practical tools, strategic frameworks, and responsible approaches to integrating AI into our daily work. 
  • Next, understand how our partners in newsrooms leverage AI: As communicators, it’s critical to gauge how today’s newsrooms use AI. Whether aiding investigative research or accompanying op-eds, here’s a breakdown of how today’s top newsrooms are incorporating AI into their workflows.
  • Craft your story for AI search: In today’s AI-driven search landscape, a clear and compelling brand narrative isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s essential. As you define your story, remember that your audience is increasingly discovering and evaluating brands through AI-powered tools. Clarity and consistency were always important, but they are now critical to ensuring your message is surfaced, understood, and trusted by both machines and humans. 
  • Revisit your owned content strategy: LLM search rankings draw from a wide range of sources, including owned content. Having an integrated communications strategy that reinforces authority and credibility through owned content – including your blog and social channels – is just as important as one rooted in earned media.
